3550 problem
One of my 3550's booted up the other day into
switch:
The flash system had an IOS on there but for whatever reason it wouldn't boot. So i'm now trying to xmodem a new IOS to it using hyperterminal.
I start the xmodem process but nothing happens like there no ............. showing the progress or anything like that.
The hypertermial window shows 1 packet transfered, then the errors increase until it stops with error I/O error.
Any ideas?? is the flash memory stuffed?
edit: hmmm weird... i set the BAUD back to the default 9600 and it started working... Normally i have it at 155200 so its a bit quicker.

mikem2te Member Posts: 407Just wondering, I've had many problems using xmodem to install IOS, I know some devices have a switch on the xmodem command to use ymodem instead - it seemed much more reliable than xmodem. I'm not sure if the 3550 has this variant but it's worth a look.Blog : http://www.caerffili.co.uk/
