Long time lurker, finally joined. Going for my Security + in a few weeks. Have been reading Mike Meyer's book, borrowed from a friend, bought Darril Gibson's book and been reading that. I think this is giving me a good base for the boot camp my job is sending me to. I'll let you know how he test goes i a few weeks.

You'll learn a lot here.
There's even a good resume thread which gave me some tips. I'd used a "pro" to polish mine up a while back and a lot of the resune "don't" the thread listed were things the pro wanted in my resume. Working on that between my studies.No longer work in IT. Play around with stuff sometimes still and fix stuff for friends and relatives.
