Multi spanning tree (MST)

Can some one confirm this for me please.

In the digram attached there is a MST region with two instances (three if you included the IST instance)

I only have two switches configured and there running configuration is

spanning-tree mst configuration
name Aaron
revision 20
instance 1 vlan 1-49
instance 2 vlan 50-100

in my show spanning tree i can see that all vlans between the MST region and rest of the network use on link. the other is blocked.

what I want to know is ccan i set it up so instance 1 uses one link out of the MST region and instance 2 uses a different link. So load balance between the MST region and rest of the network ??

CST doesnt have the concept of different instances so you can't, the solution would be to include the bottom switch into the MST region

Cheers that what I thought, but wanted to make sure I wasn't missing some thing.

So basicaly when you move between MST and other STP you lose the ability to load balance on the links inbetween.
