C3524-pwr
Hey guys I was wondering if anyone could tell me if these switches support the following commands:
switchport mode dot1q-tunnel
l2protocol-tunnel cdp
I would like to be able to use one for both my breakout switch for R&S studies and inline power for my ccvp stuff... I might still get a 3550-pwr if I see one for a good price, but i'm trying to keep spending down at this point.
I did check cisco docs and all the links to configuration docs for that model were broken...
thanks.

The 3524s are old layer 2 switches. The 3524XL-EN ($25-$70) makes an okay 3rd switch for CCNA, just like a 2924XL-EN (under $20) -- but is usually more expensive than the 2924s.
Since the 2950 switches only support 802.1Q trunking, it's nice to have an old/cheap switch around that does ISL -- unless you already have a more expensive old 3550 ($125-$250).
The prices quoted are some of the reasonable prices I've seen lately on eBay. Of course there are still people who will list a $10 2501 router for $500+:mike: Cisco Certifications -- Collect the Entire Set! -
