How bored do people get at work?

Paying bills and looking. Plus working on degree through WGU. Doing some side work right now on a small office network I got through someone I had devirused their PC at their home. I was getting a steady influx of debugging/optimizing individuals computers through word of mouth but since I always set these people up with a free antivirus and warned them off bad sites I don't get much repeat business.
I've put my "working out of home stuff" experience/skills on resume but having no luck so far.

No longer work in IT. Play around with stuff sometimes still and fix stuff for friends and relatives.
