PC Access Server

I just got a really awesome deal on an 8 port serial PCI card with octal cable. I want to use putty connection manager so I can use the tabbed browsing but multiple sessions cannot be setup using serial connections only telnet. My question is can I telnet through the console port? Do I setup a loopback address? Any help would be appreciated, thanks.

    IP configuration including default gateway.

    "line vty" configuration.

So configuring it this way would allow access to the devices through the console port using telnet?

VTY lines allow telnet or ssh access over the ip interfaces, whatever they may be, the console is for console access only, that is using a terminal client such as Terra Term or Hyperterminal. I use a PC Access server also, it has two moxa 8x serial cards for a total of 18 comms and i have no issues using it with SecurCRT which allows tabbed sessons for when i am running multiple console sessons. I think you are confusing how a VTY line and a console line connect.

Just plug em in and they will work. no extra config on the device side.
