GNS3 question

Hello everyone,
I installed and set up gns3, got it working then created a quick multi area ospf network with 6 routers. I wanted to test virtual links. Anyway, I was trying to copy the train signal lab, having a hub/spoke frame relay between R1-R2 and R1-R3, but I couldn't get it to work, so just used ppp for the time being. Googled and found there us a virtual frame switch, but I wanted to just do back to back direct connect like I used to do on my real lab. Can this not be done in gns3?
Also, is there any preferred model/ios to use?

Thanks, that what it was!
Man am I rusty with this stuff. Was able to configure all the OSPF correctly, but couldn't get layer 2 to work.
