i'm using vmware workstation

If that is the case, verify that you've properly installed and configured DNS through the Add/Remove Windows Components. netBooger Member Posts: 45 ■■□□□□□□□□If you are trying to do an nslookup from a DNS server then make sure that you have a PTR record created for your DNS server.
If you are trying to do an nslookup from a workstation make sure your DNS settings are populated correctly in the TCP/IP settings, and the PTR record for the DNS server still needs to be there.
