dns error

Hi guys

Can anyone help me solve this
i'm practicing dns infrastructure

i'm using vmware workstation

C:\Documents and Settings\Administrator>nslookup

    Could we have a little more info on your setup. What's set up on VMWare and how's it configured? Thanks
    No longer work in IT. Play around with stuff sometimes still and fix stuff for friends and relatives.

    Looks like the machine is pointing to itself as the nameserver. If that is the case, verify that you've properly installed and configured DNS through the Add/Remove Windows Components. I hope this helps.

    If you are trying to do an nslookup from a DNS server then make sure that you have a PTR record created for your DNS server.

    If you are trying to do an nslookup from a workstation make sure your DNS settings are populated correctly in the TCP/IP settings, and the PTR record for the DNS server still needs to be there.
