Imaging Vista VM with Virtual Machine Additions Installed

Here is something I noticed. I set up a virtual machine with Virtual PC 2007 SP1 running Vista Business. I install Virtual Machine Additions and it works fine. Then I sysprep and image the Vista Virtual Machine. When I apply the image to another virtual machine, the VM Additions are installed (I can see it in Programs and Features), but they don't work. For example, the mouse stays captured in the virtual machine windows. If I "reinstall" VM Additions it actually removes it since it's a part of the image. Does anyone know how to preserve the functionality of VM Additions while imaging virtual machines running Vista? Thank you.
