Hey there, im doing self study for the CCNA, I have a little lab put together and am trying to figure out the best configuration.
Items I have-
2 x Cisco 2621 XM each with 2xFa and 1 WIC2T (2 smart serial)
3 x Cisco 1760 each with 1xFa and WIC1 DSU T1 (rj45)
3 x Cisco 3524 XL 24 switches
I have been able to do configurations with the Fa ports but since I have 3 routers each with just 1 port the configurations seem limiting.
What I have been trying to figure out is how can I interconnect the serial ports.
After doing some research it seems I am able to do smart serial to smart serial, However I could not find anything on going from rj45 t1 dsu/csu to smart serial.
Any input would be much appreciated.

And a t1 connector is actually a RJ48 port, not RJ45. -
ajmatson Member Posts: 289alan is right it is a RJ48 however you can use an RJ45 cable if you change the pin outs. I made several T1 Crossover cables using an RJ45 kit and it works just fine with my WIC T1 cards. Here is a diagram for you to follow. It is only four wires that you need to connect correctly.
