Net+ old vs. 2005 exam
Does anyone know when Comptia will take the 2005 Beta objectives and make them the standard objectives?
Which one would be the better cert to have? So far, it looks like the beta is tougher? Is there any merit to that statement?

Yes, you are correct. Comptia has not yet officially announced when the new objectives kick in, but it's been speculated around mid-2005. If you think you can pass it now, I would recco you do. The newer objectives are more difficult, with the newer technologies. Currently, Net+ is relatively simple, at least I think so.i remain, he who remains to be.... -

I am just beginning to study the Network+ stuff so I can take that exam. My question is, if I plan to go for MSCA or MSCE after the 2005 Network+ objectives take effect, does that mean that I will have to retake the Network+ exam in order to have the A+/Network+ certs count as an elective towards the MSCA/E certs?
Thanks guys -

Nope, your CompTIA certs are good for life. It won't matter which one you have to put towards your MCSA in the case of A+ and Network+. Security+ can be applied toward MCSE as an elective. Good luck.
