Hi,
I want to start a Security certification, but I know nothing about security yet. I have A+, Network+ and CCNA.
Which Security cert should I start with ?
Many suggested that Security+ is not worth the money and time.. any other entry-level Security certification that I can tackle ?
Thanks !

It doesn't get too in depth on anything, but will cover a broad range of topics, which is exactly what you need to start off. -

Any other entry level Security certification than Sec+ ? -
JDMurray Admin Posts: 13,090 AdminI believe that the only entry-level, non-vendor-specific security cert that carries any recognition other then the Security+ is the GIAC Security Essentials Certification (GSEC).

Erazer Member Posts: 8 ■□□□□□□□□□Actually im presenting the CCNA Exam soon and i started getting the CCSP Books (already got the Pix one) . I'm thinking of doing next the CCSP then the CCNP .
I thought 1st of doing Security+ before going for the CCSP , althought i think i already know most of whats covered by the Security+ course , but i decided not to do it since the security+ certification wont help me in finding a job and going direclty to CCSP without wasting time is better ...
do u agree with me ? -
JDMurray Admin Posts: 13,090 AdminWell, if you believe that you can pass the Security+ now, you won't be wasting any time by taking it. If you don't pass it, then all you've wasted is the money, but you'll gain the insight that you don't know as much as you think you know, and that will help you in your studies for the CCSP.
You know?
