Strange browser issue when a virtual machine is running

When I ran a Redhat virtual machine using VMware Workstation 6.5 I noticed that both IE and firebox were just showing a blank page and I could not go to any websites. As soon as I powered down Redhat both browsers worked again. The host machine is Windows 7.
UPDATE: I rebooted and repeated the same scenario and the problem isn't happening now. I spoke too soon lol.
