Vista Boot Manager Error

I got this error today and was told by my coworker that the only thing that will fix this issue is to reimage the pc. We just have images of xp/vista on our external drive. we do not have physical dvd where we can run a repair. is there anything out there that I can run to fix this? Thank you.

What's the specific error? Have you tried running the diagnostic repair tool that rebuilds the boot sector? If you're not full-disk encrypted you should be fine.
