Hi,
Anyone read the book in the attachment, it is good for TSHOOT or not because I already read the (Official certification guide) and found it very useless.

I wouldn't waste your time or money. I haven't read it. But if it is anything like the exam certification guide you'll just be wasting your time. Just review all the topics you see in the topology with your BSCI/BCMSN (or route and switch) books and you will be fine. I didn't read any TSHOOT materials for Cisco to pass this test. icon_thumright.gif Save that $$$$

I didn't read anything for the TSHOOT either, I just labbed the tshoot topology a few times.

However, there are things on the TSHOOT that weren't really covered on the old track. I know NTP is one of them. So look through the exam blueprint and just hit anything you didn't go over.

I took the tshoot about a week after passing the BCMSN because I wanted all the stuff to still be fresh.

I thought you read the TSHOOT book because we shared the same opinion with Kevin Wallace's TSHOOT book?

As mentioned in many TSHOOT related threads, the book written by Kevin Wallace was junk. I read through it once and it was pretty useless for the exam. There are topics from the book that was in the TSHOOT beta exam though. Then again, it was probably one or two questions and won't probably hurt you if you answered it incorrectly.

Buying and reading the books is cheaper than taking the exam multiple times.

True, but TSHOOT book really didn't help me to pass the beta exam. It did, however, help me answer some questions that were covered in the book - the ones that were not covered in BSCI and BCMSN curriculum.

Normally I would say the more resources the better, but during troubleshooting, you either know how to do it or you don't.

    Very true.

Of course, Mike is basically right. This is probably the only situation where the book is completely worthless especially if you have already done CCDA, which I know isn't a popular cert, but even so, for the few questions that relate to the material in the book, just read the Quick Reference. But truthfully, just do the practice exam questions a few times on the cisco prep site and then you really don't need any ciscopress stuff for this one.

Can you post to me the URL for that practice exam question?

Follow the link on the Exam Blueprint page to find the Standard Exam Topology (that you want to know for the exam) -- and the TSHOOT Demo/Tutorial.

    TSHOOT Exam Blueprint

The Exam Demo and Tutorial link takes you to the page with the Demo Link, Tutorial Link and Topology Link. There are 4 tickets you can try -- and they mix 'em up each time you try it, so it's good for a couple of practice runs.

    Many Thanks mike.

Yeah, it's the first link Mike gave, then click on the practice tab. Just doing those is more than enough 'book studying' necessary for TSHOOT.
