Labbing for the 642

I pretty much have to use my office for lab exercises due to space constraints at home (that and my children are young and noisy). Several of the 642 exams require you to have a dual-homed NIC with one interface using a public IP address. I can do this at the office by allocating one of our public IPs to my lab unit, but I understand its best to never have a test domain controller on the same network as your production network. Isn't that correct?

To work around this, I'm going to put my test box in its own VLAN and deny that vlan the ability to see any other network. I am curious to hear how others have dealt with these lab requirments.

Thanks,
