Cable select

I have never fitted a hard drive or optical drive with only cable select. I have read that it isn't a standard EIDE cable. What cable does it use as it uses the standard EIDE controller.

It uses the standard connector, but the master slave setting is set by the cable instead of the jumper with the master being at the end of the cable and the slave being in the centre, and this is correct for both channels.

    Oh I see :D
Normal EIDE cable, the configuration is done by the drive and you must stick the master at the end.

Technically, I don't think it matters the position the drive sits on the cable, the drive itself does the slave assignment.

You can tell a CS cable by a small notch in one of the pins (wires) near the mainboard connector.
