I was told by a few people that it is really worth it... so I spent $90 to order it and I am having second thoughts....

It's a good start to get your feet wet. If you can dish out the $$$ for 2 2500 routers and 1 1900 or 2900 switch I would go that route. Nothing beats the real toys.
