After I passed my 70-685 exam(MCITP: EDST 7) today the recruiter at the testing place told me they (TAG) are hiring 500 techs for a Microsoft campaign, I know this company used to employee 3000+ people at one point. I was not really interested in working there but she advised me that they were bought by a large French company (TeleProformance). I know people that have worked there in the passed and did not like it, they have a 3 1/2 day work week for 3-12hr days and 1 6 hr day, not a good place with breaks as you have to ask a manager before they let you go to the bathroom that can be hard on people. she also told me that they will help me with the MCITP:EA, I'm not sure why since they only do basic tech support, so it might be BS to get me on the hook.
so has anyone worked there are is currently working there that can give me an overview about the place?

themagicone Member Posts: 674I can't speak for the company but I can say if they follow French work ethics, it will be a dream to work for. I worked for a French company - very good health benefits, free food all the time, good vacation policy, etc. Only in the USA do people work as hard and be as stressed as we are.Courses Completed at WGU: JIT2, LYT2, TFT2, SJT2, BFC2, TGT2, FXT2

someuser23 Member Posts: 103I know alot of people that used to work there and hate it. It's 4 days a week 12 hours a day, 3 days off and it's pretty rough. You have to handle issues within a certain amount of time and if you don't they warn you and eventually fire you.
This was 2008 so I don't know now.Ribs still touching.... -

At TAG a lunch used to be 45 min. but everyone takes 30 min. (so you have to bring in your own lunch, there's not enough time to go out) so they can leave earlier on their last day during the week; which rarely happens, because you're on a call.
In addition, I found TAG to be the most condescending, abusive and disrespectful company that I have ever worked for! I would NOT recommend anyone work there. It's not fit for human consumption; it's a slave force. On your badge are the words: "respect, professionalism, integrity" among others listed. There was a definite lack of these.
And the Microsoft campaign requires a Microsoft certification with which you can work anywhere else in much better environment and for much more money. The promise there, was CERTIFICATION, but you only get a certificate stating that you completed the training. You have to ask permission to go to the bathroom, go on a break or take lunch. You're supposed to be in work at your desk ready to start, 10 min. before your actual start time (without pay) and can't leave until your call is done, which may be 20 min. later than you had hoped for. The managers are verbally abusive. You can't walk away from your desk; get yelled at for standing up and talking to a coworker. There's one particular SME who is VERY abusive.
You get a Microsoft badge lanyard and a T-Shirt; it that worth it? You decide.
I would consider going ANYWHERE else instead. -

Wednesday being a 6 Hr day. It really depends on your lifestyle if you like going out on the weekends or being able to take a vacation on any given week you'd like it. The thing about not being able to eat out kinda not true.
Theres a Mcdonald's in the same parking lot and a wing place 2 businesses down. At the time I worked there it was a revolving door of employees but I and the people I came in with were there over a year. I did like that they had a free carnival every year for employees,a and their families, also each employee was given a large turkey. The Carnival was pretty big even including a roller-coaster. I remember working and having the managers tell us to take a paid hour off to get on all the carnival rides.
