Hi All,

I finished the Network+ exam and I ordered Security+ and Linux+ from Sybex. Both are coming on Monday in the mail and I was wondering which one you guys recommend to do next.

At work I use Win 7 and at home I use OS X.

What you guys think?

I think is a matter of preference, your current job and where you want to head there after, Sec+ would help you in the future if you'd be seeking MSCE, Linux+ is great if you're going for Unix Environments in the future, but since you are fresh out of the Net+ you should continue with Sec+ as your next cert since in my opinion they are somewhat tagged together...

I would say knock out the Security+ now. If you get it by the end of the year it will be a lifetime cert. Starting next year you will have to recertify every 3 years.

The security+ follows up well with the Net+, I would do that next.

I'm just going along with everyone else. The Linux+ will STILL be lifetime next year so you should probably do Sec+ first. You could probably knock it out in 3-4 weeks but I think the Linux+ may take you longer.
No longer work in IT. Play around with stuff sometimes still and fix stuff for friends and relatives.
