Interviews lately...

Hey guys, figured I'd post an update. As some may remember, I got a part-time job a week ago at one of the local PC repair shops just to slide by and get some bills paid. I had an interview last Friday at a company that provides tech support banks and that seemed to go all right. I should hear something back about that tomorrow, the only problem is they're looking for folks to do project work (btw, this is the same company that I did project for a few weeks ago, it's just a different branch and bank in general) so it wouldn't be steady work like I'm looking.
I've got another interview tomorrow at a major diesel engine manufacture within the local area. They're looking to deploy Windows 7 at their headquarters and need folks to assist in the deployment and also educate the end-users on how to use Office 2007. I'm sure there are more DST responsibilities to this as well as it's a 40-hour a week gig for about 3-6 months. I'm really hoping I get this one as with the full-time hours plus the pay, it'll be like I'm getting 3.5 times as much a paycheck as I'm currently making at the PC repair shop.
Wish me luck, I'll let you guys know how the interview went tomorrow.

Michael.J.Palmer Member Posts: 407 ■■■□□□□□□□Just got back from the interview and it looks like I might get the job. I'm working with a staffing company so it's always up to who the staffing company wants to put into the position after their clients interview candidates, but the guy I interviewed with said that he doesn't see why I shouldn't be hired.
Best part is it's a team lead role where I'll be in charge of about five or six other folks in a help desk envrionment (we'll be mainly assisting end users with any problems they have while transitioning to Windows 7 and Office 2007). The team lead role is pretty cool, I just thought I'd be part of the team, didn't think I'd be interviewing for the team lead role, lol. Anyways, it went well, I'll hopefully know something back soon definitively, but within in the next couple of weeks I should be starting a new job,

Michael.J.Palmer Member Posts: 407 ■■■□□□□□□□ipconfig.all: Not yet, I called the recruiter I was working with after the interview and he was in a meeting so I left a voicemail. I never recieved a call back yesterday so this morning I sent him an email expressing my gratitude for the interview set up and how excited I was about the prospect of starting the new job. I mentioned that I wanted to know what we were to do next to try and get me into the position so hopefully I'll get either a call or email today letting me know of any other additional interviews or whether or not the client has sent them a list of approved candidates just yet.
To countryboi: Yeah, it's been a little rough. I've seen a few jobs here and there but obviously most everything I had applied to was in Raleigh. I don't mind commuting if it means getting my IT career off the ground, luckily enough I don't have all that far of a cummute for this job, just 20 minutes up the road.-Michael Palmer
