Juniper
Learning JunOS for ER
nel
Hi guys,
I havent touched JunOS in my life but an opportunity has arisen where i can get some hands on in a production environment. So im thinking about taking advantage of the fast track program and starting with the jncia-ER. Im just wondering what your thoughts are on the exam and how difficult it is when compared to say, the CCNA? Also, what kind of time frame would i be looking at realistically for the cert - a month, 2 months of hard study? i have downloaded the study/lab materials from the juniper website. Someone also recommended the book - JunOS enterprise routing. Are there any good quality CBTs available for the tracks?
Finally, someone pointed out that they do discounts. On there website it states it as 50% but a friend who is juniper certified recieved a email giving people a chance to get it for 100% discount - if taken by the 31st august. is the latter true? However, i believe 3 weeks wont be sufficient to study and pass this qualification - would this be the case?
Thanks guys

If you are just starting I'd go with the JNCIA-Junos. The JNCIA-ER is set to retire soon. I'm studying for that one slowly myself. It seems fairly easy and straight forward (I do have work experience on Juniper routers though). I can't comment on the difficulty personally, but from what I hear its no where near the difficulty of the CCNA.
