First let me say Thank You to the Techexams.net community, seeing all these people studying on their own motivated me to get off my butt.

I went on a job interview yesterday for a very large enterprise organization. Towards the end of the interview he advised me that he wants to hire me icon_cheers.gif for lvl 3 support and they will start training 9/20. The training will be 6 months it will require me getting a MCITP: EA, MCDST and a certification in Forefront and Exchange. The training will be given by a local IT school (they normally charge about 10K for the training and all the books and exam vouchers) and the training and job will be in a IBM building in the area( I worked in a old IBM building where they engineered their first PC and it was a very impressive place, all the amenities including a bank that I'm still a member of ). I am very exited about this opportunity, unfortunately they could not process me for my drug test and background check so nothing is set in stone. I am to contact them 2 weeks before to set those up.

They were interviewing for lvl 1 and lvl 2 tech support that day and were really impressed with the fact I was able to get MCITP: EDST 7 on my own without classes and I think thats the only reason they offered me lvl 3 support job. My goals for the next year was to get a MCSA:M then MCITP:EA while working as a lvl 1-2 support tech, now with this opportunity I want to work very hard for this company and make sure I am fully certified after 6 months so I can start working and impress the company.

Since I will have 5-6 weeks before I start training, I want to know is there anything I can Study before hand to get me ready for when the MCITP: EA training starts, I don't want to sit on my butt and I don't want to start studying books since I don't think I will finish the MCITP series in 5 weeks, maybe some CBT videos will be better. Is there any books or other training material that just covers an overview of the MCITP track.

I have experience with things like Active Directory and Networking but none in Exchange or Forefront. maybe studying those would be better. Anyone have any input they can give me please feel free top guide me in the right direction.

I would say go out and get the Windows Server 2008 R2 pocket admin guide. It is a nice little book on things that you would not do on a daily basis. You can skim over that book for a few weeks and get good ideas about Windows 2008.

Thanks Aaron, I wouldn't have thought about a pocket guide, I have never used one before, but after reading the " Who is this book for." section its clearly what I was looking for. Ordered it today from Amazon great deal under 30 bucks.

It may not hurt checking out the cbt's. Studying them before hand would only make the classes easier and less stressful.
