I'm thinking of applying for the geek squad cadet or CIA position at best buy. Does anyone have any advice about the cadet position? Should I start with the cadet position or CIA position? I haven't worked on a computer at work for a while. My A+ material is alittle old so I would have to review the material. I also don't have Vista and Windows 7 experience. I'm sure I can get by with the other requirements and for the stuff I don't know, I'm sure I can learn it. I read what the website says about the position but I know there's more to it than what they say. I've checked out the search for geek squad already.
Or should I go for an easy tech position at staples because they don't get as much customers (true?) and it'll be less stress?

Personally I'd go to Staples, b/c you wouldn't have to wear that god-awful uniform. But to each is their own, and paying the mortgage is a top priority. -

By "What we provide to new agents ...", they mean either free or you pay for it. When I worked there, I was told they would provide uniforms, but they took "Uniform Deductions" out of my paychecks for a while. I checked it out, and my state didn't require them to give free uniforms, so they charged for them. Supposedly you can place orders free every few years or something, but I never bothered.
But.. the pants suck, the shirts suck just as much, and the shoes are uncomfortable.. and everything wears out fast. Buy your own uniform. Find the uniform details, they are very specific (ie. No pleats on the pants, must be a short sleeve shirt, etc.)
Tell them you're great at selling, and you can explain complex computer terms to dumb/ignorant people. Don't study A+, just look up Windows 7 troubleshooting and malware stuff.
