I'm addicted...

Whose bright idea was it to buy random crap to build labs? Mine.

At least work is paying for it icon_thumright.gif

Just make sure you don't get to the point where you're looking at CRS-1 parts and going hmmm.... if I move the rack over and install higher capacity electrical wiring...

Highly unlikely. The most expensive thing I've bid on so far is an 1841. I haven't reached baller status yet.

Yeah dude eBay is a blast. I've bought so much stuff there. Its a great place to find restoration pieces for cars. Stuff like old door handles, lights, etc. I also bought 90% of my Cisco equipment on eBay for pennies on the dollar. I'm sure half of its Chinese counterfeit but my home lab isn't production grade so who cares ;)

Do Chinese counterfeit Cisco kits still run the same OS on them and work the same exact way?

If Paul doesn't notice that he's bought a Chisco router and that it runs lOS then he should turn in his Cisco certs right now :P

The counterfeit Cisco hardware is generally the same design as the real hardware. Its just been made with inferior components or with little quality control. There are a bunch of threads about this on the forum so search around if you want to know more.

I buy all kinds of random junk off ebay. China makes all sorts of cool adaptors for less than $5
Decide what to be and go be it.

Oh I fully realize its bunk hardware. I don't ask because I don't care. I haven't purchased hardware in quite a while though.

Yeah. I'm just saying that you're buying it because it does run IOS and work in hopefully the same way as real hardware.
