Contract Recruiters

Just curious. Do they get paid once the placement of a candidate gets placed, or do they get paid based on the candidate a set amount at placement, and then when the contract finishes? Do they get paid at certain intervals?

I've done perm recruiting before, so I know how those folks get paid, and worked as an I.T. contractor, but wondered when/how they get paid for contract placements. I would assume that they might get more if a contractor goes perm, in a contract to perm placement.

Anyone with inside info?
