140.100.1.0 /20 is a host, right!?
Damn this Cisco Press book. It's packed full of good info, but I swear there are tons of errors too. CCNP BSCI Exam Certification Guide pg. 100 references 140.100.1.0 /20 as a VLSM subnet of 140.100.0.0 /16. How is 140.100.1.0 /20 a network? It's referenced as such several times.
Have I gone stupid? This is the proper breakdown for a /20 mask right?
.100.0.0
.100.16.0
.100.32.0
... etc
I hope I'm wrong and it's something obvious.
Any help is appreciated.

pizzafart Member Posts: 97 ■■□□□□□□□□After some mind numbing, I figured it out. It was an example about turning off summarization so that summary routes don't block longest-prefix matches. The value should be 140.100.1.0 /24. It's a long story (read the page if you have the book). There's another error at the bottom parrgraph on pg. 100, 1st line. 140.100.1.0 /20 is totally wrong. It should read 140.100.1.192 /26.
Sheesh. What a hosed couple of paragraphs.
