Good book for learning sql scripts?

I am looking for a beginners level guide to learning sql and writing some scripts for work. I was looking on Amazon.com and found this book. Anyone ever used it or could recommend another good source?

Which is a very general intro. Another great book I love is:

But from its table of contents the book you posted looks to be very good. I imagine it and the second book I posted would go very well together.

I bought this book based on your recommendation in a previous thread. It's great for learning the basics

I actually have Sams as well . Its a very quick read and is laid out decently.
