Linux pocket guide and newer linux distros

ubuntu and fedora, how accurate is this guide when using these distros? Sorry if this is the wrong forum since it's exam related, I do plan on going for it eventually but right now I am in part 1 of 2 linux classes at my local college, and myself, as well as other students are having a bit of a bind when it comes to some of the command stuff, and am looking for something similar to the "portable command guide" that is out for Cisco. So if this will do the job let me know, as it would be awesome if it's still good cause 3-4 used on amazon? who can beat that!
