Check Point Media Encryption -- Anyone using it?
veritas_libertas
My company has decided to start locking down laptops overseas and possibly at home in a way that we haven't done before. Since my coworker and I are administrators on Check Point Full Disk Encryption, they felt it was only natural to have my coworker, and me head up the testing and adminstration of Check Point Media Encryption.
Check Point Media Encryption allows you to force any USB media to be encrypted, lockdown USB/LPT/IEEE1394 ports, NICs, Wireless, and even lockdown specific USB devices like iPods.
It will be interesting to find out how well this will work. I'm wondering how much confusion this will cause for our users, it's not going to be easy to teach users that if they decide to encrypt their USB thumbdrives, there is the possiblity that they may lose data.
Has anyone out there had experience implementing this? If so, what have learned in the process?
