However they did respond to me and said it was a very hard decision. There is another position for the same company.
The position is CRM support specialist. I thanked the HR lady for the response and mentioned how classy her and her organization are. I did mention about the other job and let her know I applied for the other position and even provided the job number to the CRM position. I asked her to thank the hiring managers who interviewed me and even the HR assistant who proctored me on the Wonderlic exam.
Do you think that is over the top? Is that weird to come back with interest in another position coming off a follow up rejection letter?

...at best, they will admire your enthusiasm for their company and persistence and offer you the job! You weren't over the top, don't sweat itClimb a mountain, tell no one. -

They're not the only game in town, brother. There's always another place that will appreciate your skillset and hire you. I wouldn't worry about it too much. -

I think it makes you look like you are really ready to leave. If they refer you that's good but you if you saying, "Well hey, what about this" then I think it looks very bad. It would be different if it was like a L3 position that you applied for and they said no how about a l2 but these are totally different positions. Tread light IMO -

Hell, if anything it will allow you to more easily transition to the other position later on the down the road since active employees 9/10 times get the opportunity for new jobs before outsiders.CCNP | CCIP | CCDP | CCNA, CCDA

I consider the CRM support specialist a tier 3 position. I am a tier 2 guy right now. So it is still a step up.
That's just my two cents.
