Hot swapping of what? Memory, Disk, CPU?
I will assume you are talking about disk. If you are not using a RAID controller and yu are just hot adding a SATA disk, for example, all you do is plug in the data cable, plug in the power and the open disk mgmnt and click rescan.
If you are using a RAID controller you generaly just remove the bad disk and replace it witht the new one and it will begin to rebuild on its own. But that really deppends on the hardware and not the OS. I believe hot add of memory and CPU is only supported with Datacenter Edition.
