Jumbo Frames -- All or Nothing?

I'm thinking about a new core switch with jumbo frame support. But I don't plan on upgrading distribution or access layer switches because there would be no advantage of jumbo frames for our users.

However, I'd like to take advantage of jumbo frames for backups, which go from servers to a backup server. If both servers are connected to the same jumbo-frame enabled core switch, will it cause problems with the non-jumbo-frame-capable dist and access switches?
