Backup config of a switch

in CCNP
error openinig tftp://*******... What is this error and how to rectify this. I want to take the configuration backup for the switch 2950 by using tftp.I have used the commands Copy run tftp: and also with Copy nvram tftp: . I am getting the above error after entering the ip address and path.

mikej412 Member Posts: 10,086 ■■■■■■■■■■Did you verify that you have network connectivity to your tftp server? Can you ping the tftp server?
Have you checked your firewall configuration or security configuration on your tftp server ? Are you sure there is no firewall preventing people from connecting to the tftp server?
You didn't mention what OS you're running on your tftp server, but there are usually some security options that need to configured before opening up a tftp server to world write access. Solarwinds tftp server on Windows will let you download existing files, but you must configure the security options to let people upload files. On Linux you may be able to upload an updated version of an existing file via tftp -- but the admin may have to change the configuration (and restart the tftp server process) to allow people upload new files that don't currently exist on the server.:mike: Cisco Certifications -- Collect the Entire Set!
