Print server
Hi
Currently rolling out Win7 64-bit laptops and cannot install 64-bit printers to the server because it is also installed as 32-bit for same printer, so both 32 and 64-bit clients cant use the same printer on the same server, does that sound right?
I am having to create a TCP-IP and point it to the printer IP so the 64-bit laptops work
Has anyone else had this issue

If your printer server is 32-bit, you will have to install additional drivers on the server... you have to have one for x86, and another for x64. Both drivers need to be the same version, printer language, and so on.
If your print server OS is 2003, you might run into some issues. Most printer drivers I have seen for Win7 are backwards compatible as far back as 2003/XP, but you might find one that isn't.IT guy since 12/00
Recent: 11/2019 - RHCSA (RHEL 7); 2/2019 - Updated VCP to 6.5 (just a few days before VMware discontinued the re-cert policy...)
Working on: RHCE/Ansible
Future: Probably continued Red Hat Immersion, Possibly VCAP Design, or maybe a completely different path. Depends on job demands... -
