Was this removed in SP1 of Exchange 2010 ?

I am currently watching the Trainsignal videos of Exchange 2010 (662) and in the EMC he is configuring for example the Managed Custom Folder. A few tabs, related to folder, are missing in my EMC and when I look through some Technet articles I see comments such as

In Exchange 2010 SP1, you can't use the EMC to configure managed folder properties. 

Now I am wondering if only certain features were removed where the shell is mandatory or whether I am missing something or not

Yep, managed folder configuration via the EMC was removed in SP1. You have to use the shell.
