How does CompTIA test network speeds?

There seem to be a number of technologies that have variable max speeds (Distance from isp, etc.). Are these tested along the lines of which is fastest or do I need to memorize the range?

    I felt that both will be tested...also theoretical maximum throughputs are quite being shared by those who have taken already.
    I caught up with the same situation.
