Interview first or last?

I got an email to schedule an interview for either this Wednesday, or Friday, or next Monday or Tuesday. My question is, should I try to schedule it earlier or later. I don't want to go tomorrow, and then have them forget about me. Also, I don't want to be last, and have them already have made up their mind on who they want to hire. Any advice?

If it were me, bear in mind i'm jobless and desperately searching, I would interview tomorrow. Mainly because you don't want to say "okay i'll do it Friday or next week" and then get a phone call saying "we have already made our selection, thank you for your interest."
