Difference between dsacls /S options and /resetDefaultDACL

Hi everyone,
I'm having some difficulty grasping the difference between the /S options and the /resetDefaultDACL option and I was hoping someone could explain the difference for me.
I understand that the /resetDefaultDACL will reset the security of an object and restore inheritance. From the description of the commands the /S option looks like it does the same thing. I tested both commands and the only difference that I see is the /S option restores the default permissions but does not restore inheritance.
Is there something I'm missing, or is this the only difference between the two commands? I saw something in the /S description that stated /resetDefaultDACL should be used in an LDS environment, but that does not apply my setup.
Thanks!
