I'm studying for the A plus through CISCO material and mike meyers all in one exam guide 7th edition. My question is - i feel a bit thin on the practical aspect (702) of the exams and was wondering how good the meyers guide is for the 702 exam?

Meyers AIO 7th is great for 702. I got a perfect 900 on it using that book!
