So yeah, I had a contract end on November 30th that I really enjoyed working at but right around the corner was another contract that was even better. I'm working in Raleigh, NC (an hour commute for me, but I've traveled further for a lot less) at a Allscripts as a Client Support Analyst. I basically do troubleshooting and fixes for Allscripts Professional EHR software that is used in many healthcare locations around the country.
Excitingly enough about this job is that a lot of the troubleshooting involves me working directly with SQL databases and scripts so it's giving me much needed experience with SQL as well as a great starting point within the healthcare side of IT.
Anyone work IT at a hospital or small doctor office that uses EHR? Heh, if you ever have a problem then you may be dealing with me one day.
This contract expires June 10th, but has the potential to go permenent so I'm really hoping for that.

I wouldn't neccessarily say it's exactly what I want, but if you had the kind of year you'd be glad to know you have a steady stream of income coming in. These month off in between contracts are killing me when it comes to keeping up with bills.-Michael Palmer

Hypntick Member Posts: 1,451 ■■■■■■□□□□I was actually looking at that job with Allscripts a little while ago. Been trying to get out of the Memphis area for a while now and that would have provided a nice incentive. Unfortunately who I spoke with basically said I need to be on the ground in Raleigh before they could do anything with me. Oh well. Glad to hear you're enjoying it. Good luck!WGU BS:IT Completed June 30th 2012.
