I am a junior at Southern Utah University , my major is in criminal justice with forensic emphasis once I finish my degree I would like to go law school if it is possible , but I did some research and came to the conclusion that a criminals justice degree is pretty much useless these days , not as bad as a bachelors in Political Science , anyway I have a passion for computers and I am thinking in completing this program Electronics Programs | Department of Engineering Technology & Construction Management | CCIET | SUU , what do you do with that degree in the real world ? Can anyone give me some thoughts about my situation ? Thank for your time.

brianeaglesfan Member Posts: 130Are you still wanting to do law school? If so, depending on how far along you are in the pursuit of the CJ degree I'm not sure if it would be worth it to change over. If you're wanting to **** LS and pursue IT then this degree is better than CJ / PS, but not as good as a IS / IT / CS degree. You could otherwise finish the CJ degree and pursue relevant certifications and experience. A lot of people work in IT with non-relevant majors... heck, many have no degree.Complete: MSMIS, MBA, EPIC certified

Devilsbane Member Posts: 4,214 ■■■■■■■■□□Generally, to get into law school you just need a Bachelors degree... any degree. They actually prefer if your degree is in something other than pre-law, because that gives you a specialty.
For example, you would be walking into law school with a background for how the criminal legal system works. Now you can build off that with the legal side of things and set yourself up for a career as a criminal attorney, possibly even specializing further with cases where computers are involved.
The question really comes down to, what do you want to do? What type of company do you want to be working for, and what do you want your daily tasks to be?Decide what to be and go be it. -

It looks like a hard curriculum even with the lack of an advanced math... and if your goal is IT, it seems pointless. Most IT guys don't design or repair circuits, electrical engineers do, and this degree would not qualify you for that. EET is EE light... and the pay reflects it.Complete: MSMIS, MBA, EPIC certified
