70-291 - Transcender or Self-Test

Will be picking up my voucher from getcertify4less.com for the 291 and am pretty confident I'll want to include one of the self-test or transcender packs. I apologize for redundancy as I'm sure this has been asked a million times, but what are your opinions of either for those that have used them?

As far as I understand it Self Test is the same as Transcender but with something like 10% less questions. There could be other differences that I have not heard about but I think you are paying for the Transcender brand name recognition more than anything else. Personally I have used Transcender as that is what I've been given access to but if I was paying for it myself then I would go with Self Test.

I've used Transcender for most of my tests. Recently I have spent more time labbing and less time transcendering. The first time I took the 294 I hadn't touched transcender until they night before the test and logged a few hours. Needless to say I failed with a 663.

A month later, after much more study and some more time spent with Transcender I was able to pass with a 754 or something like that.

Don't just memorize the questions, but I find it is very helpful to see the little tricks they throw at you. All too often I answer a question confidentally and then I am confused after I get it wrong. But after reading their explanation I'm usually able to see what I missed in the question so that I don't make that same mistake on the real test. I also love their feedback system. You can contest a question and either get an explanation of why you are wrong (which is very helpful) or in rare circumstances they will agree that your point has merit and reword the question.
