How does 70-271 compare in difficulty to 70-680

Okay, decided in January to get serious about this and knocked out Network+ and Security+ in a couple weeks. Then knocked out 70-271 and started getting cocky! At one time I thought the MCDST was considered one of the more difficult of the OS certs so I was feeling good. Then started reading the boards about 682 and 680 and how long people are prepping and some of the struggles. Now I am like ohhh crap!
Supposed to be a question, so here it is.. How does the 70-271 compare in difficulty to the 70-680 or 682? Seems like there is a lot more material in the windows 7 exams versus the XP.. Insight, comments and suggestions welcome!

Psoasman Member Posts: 2,687 ■■■■■■■■■□I felt the 271 was fairly easy compared to the 270 exam. The 680 was on par with the 270 for me.
With the 680/682. I would definitely set up a lab, it's critical to understanding some of the newer concepts.
I did the 680 and 685, rather than the 682 to upgrade. I have heard the 682 is fairly difficult. -

I agree with this. I passed the 271 with a score in the high 900s and the 270 with a score in teh high 800s. My score on the 680 was pretty low (mid 700s) but I did almost no study at all for that. I was expecting it to be more like the Vista test which I did no study for except for a bit of test prep (3 practice tests) from the Meyer's book and passed in the mid 800s.
I was very happy to see the Win 7 exam had gone back to being more of an enterprise level exam. -
Piers Member Posts: 454 ■■■□□□□□□□I found the 271 and 272 extremely easy, scoring in the 900's with not much review.. I had been working on XP for years in my work environment, and had probably come across 75-80% of the scenarios tested in the objectives..
We're switching to Windows 7 at the end of this year, so I've been trying to get the 682 cert, but dammit, I just can't get it, 3x unlucky so far.. I know the practical experience is the difference, but I'm certain the difficulty level has been raised:study: Office 365 70-347 / 698 later -

If you are one of those people, message me and we can do some one on one questionnaires or I'll send you my lab scenarios and setups- I scored 900+ on the 680, 685 and 686 exams and have worked with Windows 7 in a professional environment quite extensively recently.
