I've recenty aquired a Finisar UTP Tap IL/1, thanks to work.. i've been looking for one of these for some time now, and was just wondering if anyone else has used these, or a tap similar. I'm interesting to see how others have used these in testing and other studies.
The thing i like about this tap is that it supports through line power (POE pass through) on pairs 2 and 3 and pairs 1 and 4.
It has 4 ports, but can only be used as an inline tap for a single device, as the 2 tap ports take the signals of 3,6 and 1,2 respectively, and the other two ports obviously is for the host and whatever swtich/hub etc it was originally connected to.
Anyway just thought i'd share
