I have the opportunity create Lab. I am using an old Dell 4300 Server and ole Gateway E-4200 workstation. I am installing Windows 2000 Advanced Server. : My question is will this give my enough hands-on experience to adie me in my testing? Will it help me gain insight to the real-world of servers. Any additional advive would be greatly appreciated. :

Webmaster Admin Posts: 10,292 AdminIn many cases it was sufficient, though you will have to dual or multiboot (i.e. 1 PC can boot as 2000 pro client and as 2000 file and print or an additional domain controller) or better, as Ricka mentioned, use virtual machines (VMware or Microsoft Virtual PC) to create the common setups. If the processors are up-to-date, every 256MB (even less would work) and 2-4GB disk space can be a separate virtual server or client running on the same physical computer.
