The GSE.

I would like to be able to do this one day. However, given my current skill set, it may be several decades until I can attempt it. The article makes me wonder though if they considered smaller players like eLearnSecurity, Offensive Security, etc..
Hopefully-useful stuff I've written: http://kimiushida.com/bitsandpieces/articles/

I won't argue the merits of the article but I will declare my skepticism of anything SC Magazine puts out. If nothing else, it has always bothered me that every single product review they do comes back with 4 or more stars; most receive 5. I understand pushing your constituency but how about some objective reviews once in a while. Surely every security product ever released can't be a winner??

My assumption is that manufacturers and vendors pay SCM to have their products reviewed, and no one is going to pay for a bad review if that's what SCM concludes.

Despite the fact that I agree with the conclusion, that list is garbage. How did they only end up with GSE, GCIA, CGEIT, CISA, and an unnamed, random group from Cisco as the finalists? I don't think they even described the GSE well, and they act like it's a mainstream cert that managers should be on the lookout for. Only 30 people have obtained it since 2003. It's not even funny how many high-level people I talk to that haven't even heard of it (some of them even have other GIAC certs). They really should have included a better description of their criteria and analysis.
