SSIS suggestions

Hi all
I have been given a task of automating our monthly update scripts. After researching for several days it seems like ssis is the way to go. Just wanted to know if anyone knows of a good book that would lead me in the right direction and secondly if SSIS is the correct way to automate this.
My task is taking update/insert/delete scripts that currently are run by hand and automate them. So we can run them at night. The scripts stay the same but sometimes the data changes and causes them to fail. We want to be able to separate them into reasonably sized packages, so if something fails(because of data change) then the other packages will still run. Thanks in advance for any advice.

No imporatnt changes really in 2008 to 2008 r2. I suggest Knight's 24 Hr
Trainner. It's a good intro. This will actually be a pretty simple process for you. Even emailling your team when a package fails will be easy enough.
