Western Digital buying Hitachi unit for $4.3B
Western Digital buying Hitachi unit for $4.3B - Yahoo! Finance
Wow...pure coincidence, but I bought a Western Digital 500GB 7400RPM drive to replace the Hitachi 160GB drive on the Sony PS3 I bought. I have always been comfortable with WD and/or Seagate drives. Even Maxtors..... The 160GB never saw the light of day as the upgrade was immediate. LOL.
I opted for the 500 gigger, as I doubt I was gonna need anything more and the $50 promotional credit I got from Amazon went toward the drive. So in essense, I spent approximately the same as I would've had I bought the 160GB by itself.

SteveLord Member Posts: 1,717I always go Western Digital. Seagate has dropped the ball in the consumer market these last few years if you look up reviews on their drives. Bad enough everyone is trying to make the biggest hard drives possible while skimping on quality.WGU B.S.IT - 9/1/2015 >>> ???

Seagate = Maxtor
