Hiya,
I'm new to the forum so please forgive me if this question has been asked a zillion time. I'm trying to complete Todd Lammle lab on pg 431 lab 9:2, 9:3. by uploading or downloading the flash to my TFTP server. I downloaded freeware software called Pumpkin i also downloaded solar winds TFTP server. Before uploading i wanted to test connectivity to my TFTP so i run the ping command from my cisco 2501 router console i ping the gateway i get a successful reply i ping my computer no reply. However i'm able to telnet from my computer at a DOS prompt into my router. I made sure that the TFTP is in server mode by checking the "transmit and recieve files" box. Still "nada" i'm sure I have overlooked something can someone help me out.
thanks,
Kaj

porengo Member Posts: 343You've probably got a firewall enabled on your PC which is preventing you from receiving pings. If you can ping out from your pc, but can't ping in from your router or another pc...it's a firewall that's causing it to happen. Disable your firewall and give it a try.

thanks again
